Financial Controller / Fund Accountant – Hedge Fund

• Good role for a Big 4 audit Manager/Senior Manager looking to move in-house
• Salary circa HKD 900,000 plus bonus

Our client is a multi-strategy hedge fund based in Hong Kong that is looking to hire a strong technical accountant.

Reporting to the CFO you will be responsible for calculating valuations on the various portfolio’s positions to prepare the Net Asset Value and reconcile against the numbers produced by the fund administrators and custodian.   You will also maintain the chart of accounts for the Hong Kong trading company and Cayman group holding company preparing the monthly management accounts, providing FRR reports to the SFC and ensure transfer pricing and tax compliance.  Completing year end close you will also be the key point of contact with the auditors.  This is the ideal role for an auditor from the Big 4 at Manager or Senior Manager grade who has audited hedge funds and is looking to make a move in-house.

To be considered for this opportunity you will require:

• 8 years technical accounting experience in investment management external audit or fund accounting;
• educated to degree level with an internationally recognised accounting qualification;
• a good understanding of OTC derivatives (mainly swops) and how they are valued;
• excellent communication skills in English.
