The Role
Reporting to the Head of Wholesale Banking Compliance in HK, you will be fully responsible for:
- Providing advice to Country and Business Heads to ensure that regulatory obligations and standards of conduct of the businesses are established and monitored
- Promoting the implementation of policies on compliance issues which are material to the WB business
- Managing compliance training through all available channels
- Supporting the Head of Compliance to enhance the Group’s relationship with regulators
- Providing pro-active and consultative advisory service to management and local staff on regulatory, reputational, ethical and compliance related matters
- Supervising the management of regulatory problems arising from breaches of regulatory requirements or ethical standards within the business
- Assisting in the design and restructuring of new products and systems within the WB business
- Undertaking periodic review of Bank’s policies and procedures and preparing timely reports to management with highlights of regulatory developments or compliance problems
The Successful Applicant
You will be a University Graduate holding a degree in law and/or economics preferred with at least 8 years experience gained within compliance in the banking industry. You will possess sound knowledge of Hong Kong regulatory laws and AML legislation in the country of location and have strong communication, analytical and leadership skills. Hands on experience with Wholesale Banking business will be an advantage. Fluency in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken is essential.
