Our client is a global FMCG giant with an extensive presence across China and Asia. The new role of Legal Counsel has been created in order to provide stronger legal support to the rapidly growing business in China. Reporting directly to the Regional Counsel this role will manage a team of 2 junior lawyers across Beijing and Shanghai. The role is focused on providing overall commercial legal support to the business advising all departments across HR, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance as well as the Senior Management team and hence requires excellent communication skills. The role will cover a range of legal issues such as Contracts, Labeling & Packaging requirements and regulations, Advertising Claims, IP, Employment and Compliance.

Candidates are expected to have 6 to 8 years’ experience and Lawyers with an In-House background from FMCG, Consumer Durable or Manufacturing sectors will be preferred. This is a very hands-on role which requires technically strong lawyers.  Fluency in English and Chinese is critical.
